Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon and Hyundai Construction Equipment, a leading manufacturer of construction machinery, are pleased to announce the availability of the Leica MC1 3D machine guidance system as a retrofit option for the Next Generation of excavators, specifically engineered to work seamlessly with Hyundai’s existing 2D sensors and calibration systems.

This partnership underscores a shared commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, offering construction companies the opportunity to upgrade their equipment with advanced machine control technology that integrates effortlessly with existing systems.

The Leica MC1 system provides operators with real-time design information and cut/fill indications, enabling operators to execute excavation projects accurately according to the reference model, thereby increasing productivity and reducing the likelihood of errors.

Hyundai’s latest crawler machines boast a completely new design, powered by the company’s own award-winning diesel engines. Featuring full electro-hydraulic controls, the machines will deliver power and precision for every construction application.

"We are excited to be able to offer our customers the latest Leica Geosystems advanced 3D machine guidance solution, that seamlessly integrates with our existing 2D sensor equipment," said Peter Sebold Product Manager at Hyundai Construction Equipment.

"This collaboration will allow us to enhance the installation and reduce the delivery time of our excavators, providing operators with the latest 3D machine control technology, to perform a wider range of tasks with greater precision and efficiency." Neil Williams, President of the Machine Control Division at Leica Geosystems, added, "We are proud to introduce the Leica MC1 3D retrofit solution designed specifically for Hyundai’s Next Generation excavators. Together, we are making it easier for construction industry leaders to adopt cutting-edge technology with a streamlined installation and calibration process, allowing for immediate operation."
